Hello prayer warrios, I hope the New Year is off to a good start for you all. I will be leading twice a month on Thursdays sitting in for our good Pastor Ron. I thought tonight a talk on the hard times so many people in our country are still going thru would make for an interesting discussion.
God can lead us thru tough times

Learning to trust God is one of the greatest challenge that we have to take in our lives. Many have refused giving their lives to Him
because it takes absolute surrender in having a true relationship with Him. Even those who have already given their lives to God had been struggling in faithfully trusting Him in every situation. Trusting Him is even more tested when we are confronted with a tough and difficult situation.

Trusting God Is Possible If We…
( Learning To Trust God Through Psalms 23)

A. Seek to Know His Character
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want”
( Psalms 23:1 )

B. Understand His Intentions For Us
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quite waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name sake”
( Psalms 23: 2-3 )

C. Discover His Ability To Care For Us
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me” ( Psalms 23: 4 )

D. Comprehend The Richness Of His Provision For Us
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows” ( Psalms 23: 5 )

E. Perceive The Benefits Of Trusting Him
“Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever”
( Psalms 23: 6 )

We Trust God Even Through Tough Times When We….

(1) Surrender our lives to Him even if it takes for Him in changing us.

“The Lord is my Shepherd..”
( PSALMS 23:1)

(2) Depend on God in all situations through prayer.

“Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your request to God”

(3) Patiently wait for His answer as we meditate and apply His Word .

“Yes Lord, walking in the ways of your laws, we wait for you”
( ISAIAH 26:8 )

Dear Lord,
In this time of uncertainty,
Be my rock in a world built on sand;
Be my oasis of grace and peace in a world of tension and turmoil;
Help me to carry my cross gracefully, as you did in Your Passion;
Help me to follow Your beam of light in the midst of this darkness;
Help me to see Your will in all things
And show others Your comfort and strength.

Keep me calm when tempers flare up;
Keep me sane in a crazy world;
Keep me focused on the houses in Heaven
rather than the houses of cards collapsing around me;
Keep my eyes focused on the prize of Heaven
and not lose hope in You in this world or in the world to come;
Make me compassionate in dealing with others;
Let me see my travails as carrying my cross and sharing in Your Passion, for the love of You and for the salvation of souls, including mine.
And may all my difficulties be ultimately for my good and Your glory. Amen.

Our Lord challenged us in the Gospels not to worry about what we need in terms of the necessities of life such as food and clothing, but rather to “seek first the kingdom of God….and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt 6:33). He also advised us to not to worry about tomorrow, as it would take care of itself (Matt 6:34).

This topic tonight reminds me of Maggie. Two days before Christmas I was concerned about finding extra turkeys for so very many people at the food bank. Maggie told me God would find a way. I should have slept better that night knowing Maggie was always correct. God came to the rescue with extra food for everyone. I begged for people to donate if not then to pray for so many hungry this year. The Lord finds a way even in tough times if you only believe. Thank you Maggie.

Thank you Deborah for this post. I really needed it tonight. I have been in depression for several day s and do not know exactly why. It seemed to be a combination of many things. Family, government and I find myself asking God what do you want me to do. How can I bring you back to America? It seems we are so far and slipping futher away I do not know what He wants me to do.

Good evening Barbara, thank you for being here tonight. I hope your family is doing well and the New Year has brought your son the job he has applied for.

Maggie I pray you to find your ark God will lead you there. Depression has hit so many of us. I too wonder where we are going in this country. I find it hard to visit FC as I once did.

Maggie I find it hard to believe that such a positive person as yourself can be depressed. The reason I sometimes find it hard to trust in God is that I know I don't deserve his blessings.

Deborah it appears so obvious what is happening but the solution seems to be totally ignored. This last bill was full of pork and the problem is overspending. We know it cannot continue but there seems to be no stopping it because it is set it place. I am not ready to give up but at a loss what to do and when to do it. I am just waiting for a commad from my LORD because He is our only answer. Love andGod Bless Maggie

I know how you feel Maggie, I see no end to the spending in DC. Obama is pushing it thru so quickly. The Republicans are doing nothing.

We cannot go on as a country in the manner we are. God at some point will find the leader for us. We can only look to God for the answer. I am certain the leaders are out for themselves. I pray this turns around soon. In the meantime we have eachother and we are a strong lot. God is our answer.

We do not need a leader. We must make God our leader. Then we must choose those to carry out his will.

Barbara, I know you are right. We need a strong leader for President. I know God is our answer. The government now is trying to take that from us a little bit daily.

I keep praying but I guess I am inpatient and want it known now. God does not work tht way and I must learn to wait on Him. I know He knows what is happening. He knows all and sees all but his time is not now so I must learn to keep watching. Love and God Bless Maggie.

Patience is difficult when you are up against evil as we are. I know good will come from this all, it is a matter of time.

Father, this world sometimes bewilders me and is beyond my understanding. I see poverty and disease, storms and earthquakes, war and killing. Many hearts are bound by ego and fear. Please strengthen my faith in your higher purpose and open my mind to the truth that everything is unfolding according to your divine plan. Let compassion and love for my brothers and sisters flow from me and may we all be uplifted by your glory. AMEN. Goodnight my dear friends.

"I am not ready to give up but at a loss what to do and when to do it."

Sister: Maggie, when all else fails, just trust in Yah, He knows what He is doing. Jer 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Shalom!
