Day Four – Come, Let’s Magnify the Lord!

Opening Prayer: Oh Lord, how wonderful it is to worship You and exalt Your holy name! How I love to praise you! Fill me with joy today and let my cup overflow. How wonderful it is to belong to You, the Living God! Thank You for this beautiful day that You have made. Amen.

Daily Reading: Psalm 100 (1599 Geneva)

Sing ye loud unto the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyfulness.
Know ye that even the Lord is God; he hath made us, and not we ourselves: we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with praise, and into his courts with rejoicing: praise him and bless his Name.
For the Lord is good: his mercy is everlasting, and his truth is from generation to generation.

Devotional: Psalm 100 is a short and sweet Psalm that tells us how to worship the Lord.

First, we can sing along with all of creation, in joy and anticipation of His return. Just
speaking the name of Jesus should fill us with joy.

Second, just knowing that we are His people and He is our Good Shepard should make us glad. If we can really surrender to Him and trust Him, we will be filled with joy!

Third, we must always be thankful, even when circumstances don’t go the way that we would like them to go. Like Job, we can still bless his holy Name, even in our trials and tribulations. “Job worshipped God with his lips. All through his anguish, he constantly affirmed the greatness of God. That’s worship!”1

Finally, we must know with all of our hearts that the Lord is good! In Him is no darkness at all! We need to be eternally grateful for His mercy expressed through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. If we are believers in Christ, that is exactly what we will be doing, worshipping Him throughout eternity! Hallelujah!

Prayer of Praise: Oh God, You alone are worthy of praise! The Heavens exalt You! All of creation waits in joyful anticipation for Your return! You are our light and our joy! Thank You for loving us and for Your mercy that is everlasting! In Jesus’ holy Name. Amen.

Prayer of Intercession: Dear Father, I want others to know the joy of the Lord. Please fill me to overflowing so that my joy will overflow onto others. Set me apart to be a light and a witness to others. Let my worship be joyful and cause many others to know Your joy and peace. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Personal Application: I will memorize this brief but beautiful Psalm and speak it daily for a week. Next week, I will come back to it and add another memory verse to my Bible Journal.

Thought for the Day: God delights in our joyful faces offering up His praises!

Our Elohim created us for His glory, but like little children our only desire was to please ourselves. As we continued to grow this selfish desire hardened our hearts and souls, into becoming wicked beyond measure. Still our all wise and loving Yah chose not to destroy or abandon us, bur rather to love us away from His displeasure, and into His fellowship. Truly we have great cause to praise, and glorify Him all the days of our life, in our most humble appreciation.

Laurie, thank you for leading prayer this evening. It is so important to take time to just worship God and offer Him praise and thanksgiving. Often times we approach Him only when we are in need. We need to reflect daily on His majesty and His deep love for us.

I have a couple of prayer requests. My friend Nilgun's dad is very sick with the flu. He is in his 80's and is diabetic. Please pray for his complete recovery.

Maggie, it is good to hear from you. You are right that we need to ask Him daily what we can do for Him and do it with thanksgiving. I pray that you will get the rest that you need and that you are feeling better.

Thanks Debbie, for reminding us to pray for Barbara. She has been in my prayers. Has anyone heard from her lately?

Amen, Carol. Laughter is a great medicine. There have been times in the past when I had asthma and my chest was tight so I put on something funny and laughed. It helped to 'loosen things up' so to speak. Yes, our God wants us to be joyful. I, for one, am guilty of getting too bogged down in the events of the day and letting it get me down. But Jesus told us not to let our hearts be troubled, so thanks for the reminder!

p.s. Clean jokes are welcome!

Two little boys were sitting at the breakfast table watching their mother fixing pancakes, when they got into an argument over who should get the first pancakes. Their mother seeing the opportunity to teach them a good moral lesson, said to the two boys; “if Yeshua was sitting at the table He would say, serve my brother first, I can wait!" Wherein the one said to the other; "you be Yeshua!" We've got to keep you all healthy you know. {|꞉3› Shalom!

Haha, Yeshua Friend. Somehow I knew you'd come through with a good joke!

I am in agreement with all of the prayers here tonight.

Father, please fill us with Your joy and peace tonight as only You can. Let not our hearts be troubled. You told us that these things must happen and You saw fit for us to live in such a time as this. Please strengthen our faith, for without faith, it is impossible to please You.

We love You, We praise You. You alone, Oh Lord are worthy of praise.

Are we earlier than usual tonight? I know not early for you, Laurie. Last night I looked on the Internet for information about a dear friend from my childhood through early adulthood. Have not spoken with him in many years. Sadly I discovered that he has recently died. I actually have mourned him all day. Please remember him in your prayers.
Buenos Noces!
