Israelis have voted and with the final numbers in, two things are clear: 1) Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud-Beitenu party is far and away the largest party; but, 2) Netanyahu is no longer "King Bibi" -- he is severely politically weakened and this has implications for Israeli domestic policy, but even more for its foreign policy.
Some analysts, for example, believe an Israeli preemptive strike on Iran in 2013 is now highly unlikely, if not impossible. "The chance that Netanyahu will feel strong enough to order an Israeli military strike on Iran is now nearly zero," concludes Yossi Melman, a prominent Israeli journalist and national security analyst. My view is that it's too early to draw that conclusion, but the question is an interesting one. There will also be significant new left-wing political pressure (along with intense pressure from the reelected Obama administration) for Netanyahu to make sweeping concessions to the Palestinians and divide the Land of Israel.
In a three-way gun fight, the persians in the black hats will likely elect to direct their first crippling attack at the largest and most beguiled opponent, the US.
I would not be surprised to see a direct or proxy bombing of the US in 2013; Israel may well be spared the first round.
Could someone tell me why Israel has to acquiesce to everyone?
David, I have been feeling the same thing. The spiritual war is being fought here, right now...God is fighting for His established Kingdom on earth, the USA. BO and all the evil souls who cling to him are plotting our demise. If only more Americans would get down on their knees and repent....we could avoid a lot of this. Unfortunately, I do not see that happening and God will have to take a stand....like a stern father would, and let us learn the hard way.
Could we back up, just a minute? Ms. Nana, to twist an old slogan from WW I, certain nations will always go to war against Israel, "in order to make the World Safe for Evil."
Ms. Cyn, I remain fascinated by the statement: "When God solves your problems, you have faith in His abilities. When God doesn't solve your problems, HE HAS FAITH IN YOUR ABILITIES."
According to Rev. Irwin Baxter (End Times Prophecy.org, all six Israeli Presidents who have compromised land or given land have all been punished. Stroke, assassination, voted out, all six gone from office in a pretty short time after disobeying God's covenant with them. God set the boundaries of Israel. If they (secular govt) would listen to their religious leaders, the world would be better off.
Very interesting Jeanine! Thanks for that tidbit....God help Netanyahu.
