• Have we strayed too far from Christ for US to return? We the United States of America was founded upon Christian principles by very honorable men. These men were not perfect but with Christ He made US a near perfect form of government. Here we are in 2013 and don't resemble that Christian society at all. Envision 1790 is a project that looks to bring that time period's values back to life; but how?
Let's start with the question why doesn't America resemble the America of our Founding Fathers? The list would be endless but would boil down to America's failing away from God. In John 3:19 Christ says "man likes his sinful ways", or in other words...if we don't have a God to answer to then we can do what we want. America has chosen to not follow God but instead follow sin. There are those with a Liberal agenda that God doesn't exist, and then there are the rest of US that are just too lazy to care. America will fail without God, so where will Revival come from? Is this stark reality enough to bring about Revival?
Over these 200 plus years American culture has deteriorated to the point that homosexuality is ok where a Christ Nativity scene is not, and marijuana is ok where a 20oz soft drink is not. The point is that our center of morality has shift because we have lost that Center which is Christ. If man like sin and man doesn't answer to God then man will become sin. How can we allow sin to decide what is right and what is wrong. The consequences are this society we have created in 2013.
Back to the question, how to bring back the values our Founding Father had that gave US this great nation, and how do we bring about the Revival needed to turn our country back to God? Envision 1790 Rural Life Museum looks to be that history lesson to remind US of our Christian Heritage, and a 1790's style brush arbor revival will begin a Nationwide Revival. So what is Envision 1790 and what is a 1790’s Style Revival?

Envision 1790 is a project the Lord birth in my heart back in January of 2009. Birth because this Envision has yet to be fully revealed. It is as though the Lord opens small portals and allows me to see only small glimpses of what this total Envision will be one day. With each glimpse the excitement grows, but my difficulty has been in sharing the deeper messages of Envision 1790 to others.

On the surface, Envision 1790 Rural Life Museum will be a replica of a town as it would have looked in the early days of our great nation. It will be open to the public and will cater to area school groups out on class fieldtrips. The theme is “remembering our Christian Heritage” and will display important facts about our Founding Fathers and the influence of our Christian Faith in developing America’s unique form of government.

But this Envision is so much more; more deeper messages revealed within Envision’s unique attempt to recreate this rustic atmosphere in which visitors begin to feel as though they are a part of living history, back again in the 1790’s. A period of time in Americas’ history in which our Founding Fathers showed great devotion to the Lord God, and His blessings poured out in abundance. This comparison of our own personal walk with Christ to that of our Forefathers will create an atmosphere in which the Holy Spirit can move in our own personal lives.

Envision has been difficult to explain, especially these deeper messages. But just as before, the Lord opens another portal; this time giving great insight into just how this Envision will be used to stir Christian’s hearts again. While visiting with Pastor Waylon Bailey, this idea of a 1790’s style Brush Arbor Revival was birth. Pastor Waylon had proposed the question in his newsletter “where do we go from here?” in response to the horrible school shooting in Connecticut. In our conversation that followed, I asked him how hard it would be to preach on each and every social factor that contributed to this horrible tragedy. Pastor Waylon said that it would be very difficult. Today’s society has accepted too many things as normal; right and wrong has become “gray” areas. I asked what if he could get his congregation to look at our society but from the 1790’s point of view. It would be as though they are on the outside looking at today’s society and seeing our deterioration and our falling away from God.

To preach a message as though we are all still in the 1790’s would allow the Pastor to point out differences in these two time periods. For instance how sex outside marriage was wrong; homosexuality was not seen in public; a man must work or he didn’t eat; the total collapse of our morals in the entertainment industry; and that God was the ultimate decider of right from wrong. So with these and many other assumptions a Pastor could preach a message that encompasses so many of today’s social issues. The congregation not feeling as threatened would see the ramifications of us today not living by those Godly principles. The Pastor’s message would be almost prophetic in the sense that he would be predicting the future. Then the Holy Spirit would use this atmosphere to speak a personal message to each one of us, and true Revival would break out.

Plans are in motion for this unique 1790’s style Brush Arbor Revival this May. The final details are being worked out for May 8, 2013 to be held on the grounds of Camp Singing Waters in Holden, Louisiana; starting on Wednesday evening and going through Saturday May 11. Stephen you hit the nail on the head. The trouble is we have fallen away from God as a collective.

1 year 9 months ago

Yea but we must start with individuals and collectively we will be saved. Worst case is all those individuals will be saved even if America fails.

1 year 9 months ago

Fortunately we are not saved by collective but rather the individual basis. Every man must be born-again to enter the kingdom of God. So AMEN to your comments! Thank you for this post!

That is why we the individuals are so important as believers

Individually, we can never be so far separated from Christ or His Father that we cannot repent and restore our relationship with them. Nationally however, is a much different issue. A nation can go too far, it can become so alienated from God to be beyond redemption - at least in the short term. God's chosen Hebrew nation of Israel is the graphic example recorded in scripture for our instruction.

@Bill I really enjoyed your post. Thank you for sharing. You are right God's purpose is afoot. I have heard it referred to as God brewing the perfect storm. I think, at least I hope that God will restore us and we all know he can. Our relationship to Israel is critical and one of the key things that worry me about Obama is his take on Israel. The word says that he who blesses Israel will be blessed. In the end you are right it will be his will and nothing else.

"why doesn't America resemble the America of our Founding Fathers?"

Because Satan stole our minds through mind control TV's, and Video games, heavenly Hollywood fantasies, foot ball and basket ball, base ball and hockey, a new god to love and serve during every awaken minute of our lives.

Thank all of you for reading my long post...sometime it takes me a while to get my point across. And that point was this "Envision" has a specific purpose and this 1790's style revival is the catlist to prove that purpose by demonstrating the atmosphere create can and will give the Holy Spirit our attention...then our hearts...then true Revival will break out.

Can you'll see this Envision?

Hey Yeshua, I think you hit on the most powerfull tool Satan has...TV's. You notice I did mention "total colapse of our morals in the entertainment industry". My challenge is to bring this fact to light even though Hollywood didn't exist in the 1790's.

What ever it is we spend the greater part of our time with, that is the god we are honoring and worshiping; whether it be some man made Idol, or Yeshua Ha'Mashiach. Hopefully it will be Yeshua Ha'Mashiach! Shalom!

Well then I guess I am ok Yeshua friend cuz God is never out of my mind. I wake up thinking about God and go to sleep thinking about God

Amen Transient Angel, I praise Yah for that. I likewise do the same, and often awaken to realize that I was praying in the Ruach while I slept. Shalom!
