Our children suffer in this world of basic old fashioned values,morals,ethics,self esteem. Our children suffer from parent(s) forced to over work, leaving our children as latchkey or with another person to educate. Our children may be educated to some extent,however,there is a lack in what they are learning in this society as the next generation,our next leaders. Our society has allowed government to rule to the point that it has made our children soft,to better rule them and tell them what to do. Our children used to be the rulers,our leaders.Our world has changed greatly from the 1960's when there still was family unit teaching good old fashioned values and niceties to our fellow man. Our children had a dream,the American dream as it was called. Our children were taught to work hard for what they wanted and they appreciated what they had. These things are disappearing and becoming extinct within our children. There shall be no great future for our children if we continue to allow government to rule so far into our lives that our children are no longer the men and women that once were bred in the United States of America.

Ed, not all children or even most of them are taught to 'respect' life,whether it be animal,a person,or even themselves. My point was not Greenpeace in my statement,tho it makes you ill for me to use,it is the fact that this young man had approached my son in- law and scuffed at what difference could he make. Just the statement made me start thinking of our youth today and the many ongoing problems they face and the lack of mentoring they have suffered to learn such things as 'putting that bird nest in the bush.'
I teach my daughter to always speak appropriately and with respect to another person no matter how they talk or treat you. I teach her to respect the animals,trees,and to appreciate what she has and love who she is. She is taught about old ways of life and how things are now so she learns that she must adapt in our ever changing world. She is taught to be honest,and she shares her spirit of life with people she meets with a smile to all.
