I have been writing this column for over a dozen years, and I can safely say the column I wrote last week, “My Line In The Sand Is Drawn Here,” produced more response than any column I have ever written--maybe more than any two or three columns combined. And what is even more noteworthy: unlike most columns, the responses to this column were at least 90% favorable.
In last week’s column I said, “Throughout the United States, there are tens of millions of fully-armed citizens who are more than capable of defending themselves and their communities against any enemy--whether that enemy is an internal or external one. In fact, many millions of these citizens have been trained in the US armed forces. Firearms--especially semi-automatic rifles--in the hands of millions of American citizens is truly the only thing that stands between freedom and tyranny for the people of the United States. That Barack Obama and Dianne Feinstein want to disarm the American people should be considered an act of war against our liberties! In other words, ladies and gentlemen, this is a line in the sand that none of us can afford to ignore.”
I also wrote, “Make no mistake about it: to take away an American’s right to a semi-automatic rifle is to FULLY DISARM HIM. There is no Second Amendment; there is no right to keep and bear arms; there is no citizen militia; there is no liberty without the semi-automatic rifle!”
I concluded the column saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, whatever the consequences might be, and whatever anyone else does or doesn’t do, I am prepared to become an outlaw over this issue! I don’t know how to say it any plainer: I will not register my firearms, and I will not surrender my firearms. Period. End of story. It’s not just a saying with me: when my guns are outlawed, I will be an outlaw!
“My line in the sand is drawn here!
“Make no mistake about it: it is not just semi-automatic rifles that these gun grabbers are after. Ultimately, they want to take all of our guns. We either stop them now or there will be no stopping them at all.”
See the column: My Line In The Sand Is Drawn Here!
Among those who wrote to tell me that they had also drawn their personal line in the sand on this issue and that they would also absolutely refuse to register or surrender their firearms were people from virtually all walks of life: attorneys, realtors, bankers, teachers, physicians, civil servants, salesmen, truck drivers, tradesmen, pastors, law enforcement officers (including federal police officers), and military personnel--even special forces troops. Accordingly, I am absolutely convinced that these people are a microcosm of gun owners nationwide. I am also convinced that should Senator Dianne Feinstein’s bill banning semi-automatic rifles become law that there are literally tens of millions of Americans who simply will not comply.
Furthermore, former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan recently told John McLaughlin that should the federal government attempt to confiscate the guns of the American people, “There would be a revolution in this country!”
See the report: 'There would be a revolution in this country!', Mail Online
What most people fail to realize (because they are not taught it) is that the match that ignited America’s War for Independence was not excessive taxes, or the lack of representation, or trade restrictions, or the lack of trial by jury (as important as these issues were). The match that ignited America’s War for Independence was ATTEMPTED GUN CONFISCATION.
On April 19, 1775, British troops, some 800 strong, were dispatched to Concord, Massachusetts, to arrest Sam Adams and John Hancock and to seize a cache of weapons known to be stored at Concord. When Dr. Joseph Warren sent Paul Revere to warn Pastor Jonas Clark (in whose home Adams and Hancock were staying) that the Crown’s troops were on their way to arrest the two men and seize the guns at Concord, he alerted his male congregants. About 60-70 men from the Church of Lexington stood armed on Lexington Green awaiting the Red Coats.
Upon spotting the citizen militia, a British officer demanded the men throw down their arms. They refused; and the British troops immediately opened fire. Eight of the Minutemen were instantly killed. The colonists returned fire in self-defense, and the shot was fired that was heard ’round the world. By the time the troops arrived at the Concord Bridge, just a few miles away, hundreds of colonists were waiting for them with muskets in hand, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Make no mistake about it: attempted gun confiscation ignited America’s War for Independence. And I am convinced that Pat Buchanan is absolutely right. If the federal government attempts to confiscate the guns of the American people, “There would be a revolution in this country!”
One more observation regarding The Battle of Lexington which opened America’s War for Independence: not only was attempted gun confiscation the match that ignited the war, it was the pastor of the Church of Lexington and members of his congregation who were the Minutemen of Lexington Green. That is another fact most historians conveniently leave out of the story.
If there is one element missing from today’s liberty fight, it is the lack of participation from America’s pastors. By and large they are MIA. How many pastors today are warning their congregations of the threat against their Second Amendment liberties? Every pastor in America, regardless of denomination, should have already started proclaiming “the spirit of resistance” (Thomas Jefferson) to their church congregations; they should already be extolling the Biblical mandate to resist tyranny; they should already be warning their congregations of Barack Obama and Dianne Feinstein’s plan to disarm them.
Let me ask my church-going readers: has your pastor said one word from the pulpit regarding the impending gun ban now being drafted? Has your pastor explained the Biblical principles of lawful resistance? Has your pastor exhorted his church congregation to not surrender their firearms and to do everything in their power to demand that your senators and legislators hold the line for the Second Amendment? And my next question is if your pastor has not done any of this, why are you still attending that church?
Ladies and gentlemen, there would have been no United States of America had it not been for Rev. Jonas Clark and the other patriot-pastors of 1775 and 1776. There would have been no Lexington Green and Concord Bridge; there would have been no Bunker Hill; there would have been no Declaration of Independence; there would have been no British surrender at Yorktown. And I would dare say that if a significant percentage of pastors would stand up this Sunday and encourage their people to stand firm against this gun ban bill, the bill would never see the light of day.
The time is late, folks! We no longer have the luxury of straddling the fence or putting our heads in the sand. If your pastor refuses to take a public stand for YOUR liberties, and the liberties of YOUR CHILDREN, vote with your feet and walk out the door. Find yourself a pastor who will defend your liberties and the liberties of your children--liberties that other pastors and patriots purchased at the cost of their very blood.
I repeat what I’ve already said, “Whatever the consequences might be, and whatever anyone else does or doesn’t do, I am prepared to become an outlaw over this issue! I don’t know how to say it any plainer: I will not register my firearms, and I will not surrender my firearms. Period. End of story. It’s not just a saying with me: when my guns are outlawed, I will be an outlaw!
“My line in the sand is drawn here!”
And so are the lines of millions of Americans.
In response to Pat Buchanan’s prediction of revolution should the federal government attempt to confiscate our guns, John McLaughlin replied, “Baloney!”
I’m sure that’s what King George III said when he was told that would happen if his troops attempted to confiscate the guns at Concord.

The issue is really kill rate. Patriots with small arms can't do much against the kill rate of a gunship or a tank. You can't mass troops when they would get wiped out by cluster bombs in a few minutes. One would have to fight as small bands of fighters using rural areas and forests to hide in when not raiding the cities. The key things to hit would include cell phone towers and fiber optics networks. One would need military grade explosives to destroy bridges, roads and police posts.

There is a great book called "Wilderness Evasion" which tells how to hide from police and the military.
I live by an outdoor range that has been full on weekends since Obama showed up. Today when I drove by I was amazed at how many cars were there, I'd say at least double. They made their own new parking area.
Marksmanship is not the problem. It's the type of weapons and the kill rate. The government has all the good weapons. They can kill 500 people in one low level bombing run. There isn't much defense against napalm except heavy armour. How long do you think the folks at the range can stand against a single gunship? The only realistic approach is a military takeover. You'd need at least 50% of the AIr Force as that is where the kill capacity is.
@conrad Wheeler.... I disagree.... King David ( then a shepherd boy) had only a sling shot and he slayed Goliath. Was it really David's sling shot ability or was it that he said, "Goliath, you come to me with sword in hand and I come in the name of The God of Abraham, Yisak and Yacov. How about this one..... Israel in 1948 and 1967 were totally outnumbered by the Arabs coming against them and miraculously they won those two battles.
What is impossible for man is not impossible for God. The game plan for us ....is to first drop to our knees and seek God's face and His will for this undertaking. His plan is guaranteed to accomplish victory for those who are on His side. His ways are not our ways. That is why He is the creator and we are not. He is the potter and we are the clay. Let HIM mold us into what He wants done in this situation.
Yeshua (Joshua) and Caleb ( he was 80 years old) never saw the 'giants' in the promise land. They saw victory because God said, " I give you this land." So as far as those two were concerned, the promised land was a done deal. All they had to do was position themselves for victory.
@ Conrad.... Oh, I forgot! Gideon.... He was a coward, yet God called him, "Mighty man of valor". God saw the end results from the beginning. Gideon only had 300 men against two armies of enemies that would come against them. God told Gideon to take clay pots fill them with water and position themselves against the mountainside facing the enemies marching against them in the middle of the night.
At God's signal, the 300 men were to crash the clay pots with water against the jagged rocks of the mountainside. The enemy got confused and thought that sound they heard was the hoofs of thousands upon thousand of Israelis marching toward them to slaughter them. As the sound of the broken pots ricocheted and echoed off the mountainside, the two enemy armies fought each other in the darkness of confusion. Not a drop of Hebrew blood was shed that night.
We have a more excellent covenant than the Mosaic covenant. What do you think God is gonna do? Leave us orphaned and helpless? Not if you trust in His ability, not our own.
One thing to remember. With GOD all things are possible. If we unite and turn to GOD our prayers will be answered and we can and will win this fight. But that will only happen IF people turn from their wicked ways and seek GOD....
Janice, The Romans destroyed the Temple in 70 AD and scattered the Jews. We can't assume that God is always going to get involved in conflicts. We lost Viet Nam to Godless Communists. God helps those who help themselves.
That's why we have to to be smart and make good plans. The Communists would probably love it if a few thousand Patriots started shooting and use it as an excuse to round us all up. We need a real leader with military skills at the highest level and perhaps 100,000 troops. Points of control would have to be seized all at once and the new giovernment proclaimed before the Communists in DC know what is going on.
It is written: "You have not cause you ask not, or you ask amiss"
re: 'God helps those who help themselves'.... That is not in the bible. Sorry! That is a secular misnomer. Other errors are: "Three wisemen"...Not in there.... It says... "Wisemen from the east", never said how many. Another one is: " Money is the root of all evil" Nope, not in there. It says,... "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." Last but not least.... " The truth will set you free." Not quoted correctly. The KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH will set you free.
Truth is not a philosophy...it is a person... Jesus said, " I AM the way the Life and the TRUTH no man go to the Father but by Me. " Jesus died to set us free. So to KNOW THE TRUTH is to be set free.
From the beginning man has thought he could do it by himself. That is not what God wants. He has always said (both in the N.T. and O.T.) TRUST IN ME! It is written: "Man's ways are not God's ways". "His ways are higher than your ways". ( end of quote).
You see, we are not on the same page. I don't walk by sight, I walk by faith. I don't say that as a person who is pontificating, but from personal experience. I should be dead, literally. Cancer, 6 months to live. Massive inoperable tumors on both breasts. No hope. I believed God when He said, " By His Stripes I was healed". that was in 1998 and I have no masses of cancer or even a shred of it in my entire body since. My husband had no heart attack but had triple by-pass surgery on a tues 1999 went home that Sat. following and was in Church on Sunday. He refused pain killers ( remember his chest; even the breast bone was opened up) because he said, "He had no pain".
I could go on and on. I was in the morgue assisting our pastor after a parishioner died suddenly. After 5 hours we were allowed to go to the morgue. The pastor prayed a prayer of faith. Our parishioner comes to Church every Sunday and is an usher since then.
Is this in the bible? You betcha! Jesus said, "The things ( talking to believers) you see me do, you will be able to do and even greater." Last time I studied, He raised the dead and even rose Himself.
My prayer is that you seek God's plan through prayer. If you believe, He will give you a victorious plan.
Like I said we did lose Viet Nam so somtimes pray as we may things turn out differently than we hope. While personal healing miracles are wonderful, I know of no events on a military scale in the last 2000 years where such things occurred. The Church launched the Crusades but were diriven out of the Holy Land by the Muslims in 1292. Proceed with caution if you want to fight the military.
All one has to do is study the motive behind these wars. The question is....did we pray b4 we decided to go into Viet Nam. Johnson was and is an atheist. Sorry! Also the motive for the crusades was anything but Holy as the Jihads of the Arabs. Not to seek God first and foremost is the greatest error an American can have. Look at where are country is now, because we have become an 'ungodly' nation. Abortion...same sex marriage? And the church was silent. Why?

Cause they were afraid to lose their non-profit status by the IRS. They too fell short! You know what? Ezek. 33:3 says, " You are the guard ( watchman) on the wall, I tell you to warn those righteous and unrighteous of all their error and you don't? These will surely die in their error, but I will hold you accountable for their blood; it will be on your hands."....
I just sound the alarm...I am not responsible for the response.
My prayer is, tomorrow, that more people will seek God in our nation, then not. That is all I can do. The rest is up to God.
BTW.... I would suggest that if you do seek God, you seek His justice be done against the enemies of mankind. It is written: "God loves Justice"
When God administers justice........look out!
[An] oath – the strongest of religious ties. 35 JAMES MADISON, SIGNER OF THE CONSTITUTION
[In o]ur laws . . . by the oath which they prescribe, we appeal to the Supreme Being so to deal with us hereafter as we observe the obligation of our oaths. The Pagan world were and are without the mighty influence of this principle which is proclaimed in the Christian system. 36 RUFUS KING, SIGNER OF THE CONSTITUTION, FRAMER OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS
Oaths in this country are as yet universally considered as sacred obligations. 37 JOHN ADAMS, SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION, FRAMER OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS
An oath is an appeal to God, the Searcher of Hearts, for the truth of what we say and always expresses or supposes an imprecation [calling down] of His judgment upon us if we prevaricate [lie]. An oath, therefore, implies a belief in God and His Providence and indeed is an act of worship. . . . In vows, there is no party but God and the person himself who makes the vow. 38 JOHN WITHERSPOON, SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION
The Constitution enjoins an oath upon all the officers of the United States. This is a direct appeal to that God Who is the avenger of perjury. Such an appeal to Him is a full acknowledgment of His being and providence. 39 OLIVER WOLCOTT, SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION, GOVERNOR
According to the modern definition of an oath, it is considered a “solemn appeal to the Supreme Being for the truth of what is said by a person who believes in the existence of a Supreme Being and in a future state of rewards and punishments . . .” 40 JAMES IREDELL, RATIFIER OF THE CONSTITUTION, U. S. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE APPOINTED BY GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Constitution had provided that all the public functionaries of the Union not only of the general [federal] but of all the state governments should be under oath or affirmation for its support. The homage of religious faith was thus superadded to all the obligations of temporal law to give it strength. 41 JOHN QUINCY ADAMS, PRESIDENT
“What is an oath?” . . . [I]t is founded on a degree of consciousness that there is a Power above us that will reward our virtues or punish our vices. . . . [O]ur system of oaths in all our courts, by which we hold liberty and property and all our rights, are founded on or rest on Christianity and a religious belief. 42 DANIEL WEBSTER, “DEFENDER OF THE CONSTITUTION”
There are many other similar declarations. 43 And America’s leading legal authorities and reference sources likewise affirmed that taking an oath was a religious activity. For example, in 1793, Zephaniah Swift, author of America’s first law book, declared:
An oath is a solemn appeal to the Supreme Being that he who takes it will speak the truth, and an imprecation of His vengeance if he swears false. 44
In 1816, Chancellor James Kent, considered to be one of the two “Fathers of American Jurisprudence,” noted that an oath of office was a “religious solemnity” and that to administer an oath was “to call in the aid of religion.” 45
In 1828, Founding Father Noah Webster, an attorney and a judge, defined an “oath” as:
A solemn affirmation or declaration made with an appeal to God for the truth of what is affirmed. The appeal to God in an oath implies that the person imprecates [calls down] His vengeance and renounces His favor if the declaration is false, or (if the declaration is a promise) the person invokes the vengeance of God if he should fail to fulfill it. 46
In 1834, a popular judicial handbook declared:
Judges, justices of the peace, and all other persons who are or shall be empowered to administer oaths shall . . . require the party to be sworn to lay his hand upon the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God in token of his engagement to speak the truth as he hopes to be saved in the way and method of salvation pointed out in that blessed volume; and in further token that if he should swerve from the truth, he may be justly deprived of all the blessings of the Gospels and be made liable to that vengeance which he has imprecated on his own head; and after repeating the words, “So help me God,” shall kiss the holy Gospels as a scale of confirmation to said engagement. 47
In 1839, Bouvier’s Law Dictionary, considered one of America’s most popular law dictionaries (and still widely used by courts even today), stated that an oath was:
[A] religious act by which the party invokes God not only to witness the truth and sincerity of his promise but also to avenge his imposture or violated faith. . . . . Oaths are taken in various forms; the most usual is upon the Gospel by taking the book [the Bible] in the hand; the words commonly used are, “You do swear that,” &c., “so help you God,” and then kissing the book. . . . Another form is by the witness or party promising, holding up his right hand while the officer repeats to him, “You do swear by Almighty God, the searcher of hearts, that,” &c., “And this as you shall answer to God at the great day.” 48
Well DUH the Revolutionary war would be one of them.... Bet George Washington was on his knees praying to GOD before they attacked. With only 3% of the population fighting, how else do you think that war was one... GOD is how...
America was founded on prayer.
Whereas the Congress of the United States, by a joint resolution of the two Houses, have signified a request, that a day may be recommended, to be observed by the People of the United States, with religious solemnity, as a day of pubic Humiliation, and Prayer; and whereas such a recommendation will enable the several religious denominations and societies so disposed, to offer, at one and the same time, their common vows and adorations to Almighty God, on the solemn occasion produced by the war, in which he has been pleased to permit the injustice of a foreign power to involve these United States;
I do therefore recommend the third Thursday in August next, as a convenient day to be set apart for the devout purposes of rendering to the Sovereign of the Universe and the Benefactor of mankind, the public homage due to his holy attributes; of acknowledging the transgressions which might justly provoke the manifestations of His divine displeasures; of seeking His merciful forgiveness, His assistance in the great duties of repentance and amendment; and especially of offering fervent supplications, that in the present season of calamity and war, He would take the American People under his peculiar care and protection; that he would guide their public councils, animate their patriotism, and bestow His blessing on their arms; that He would inspire all nations with a love of justice and of concord, and with a reverence for the unerring precept of our holy religion, to do to others as they would require others to do to them; and finally, that , turning the hearts of our enemies from the violence and injustice which sway their councils against us, He would hasten a restoration of the blessings of Peace.
Given at Washington the 9th day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve.
By the President.
Secretary of State
Our founders put their prayers to song so that it would be ever on the lips of the patriots.
And Three Hymns, for the National Fast.
For August, 1812. On Account of the War.
In solemn strains and slow,
Express the mournful feelings
Which this day excites;
Then prostrate bend before the Lord of hosts.
And as a Nation seek his needed help.
Spare, O Lord, spare thou thy people,
And save us from our fears,
And shield us from our foes, And shield-
Be our defense on every side, Be our-
And still maintain our cause, And still-
Send now prosperity; Send now prosperity; Send-
Restore again our peace.
Our nation bless, O Lord, our nation-
Our rights and liberties secure;
And crown'd with peace may they descend to ev'ry future age!
(Tune: Beklnap's Kingston.)
O GOD supreme, whom heavenly hosts adore,
Prostrate before thee, see a Nation bend;
And be entreated now, as heretofore,
To us and ours thy kindness to extend.
Through tumults, wars, and fightings, far and wide,
Through other reigns urge their dread career,
Here still may liberty and peace reside,
Secure from discord, and remote from fear.
Our Rulers and their councils, Lord, direct;
And, since on Thee, our firmest trust relies,
Do thou our cause succeed, our land protect,
And Oh, restore again the peace we prize!
(Tune: Condolence or German Hymn.)
God of our hope, to thee we turn
With fasting and with fervent prayer;
Let not thy threaten'd anger burn,
But still thy favour'd people spare!
Oft hast thou saved from our foes
By granting rescue from on high;
Now patronize and interpose,
And be thy needed succour nigh!
When marshall'd in the dangerous fight
As once thou didst our forces shield,
So now, O vindicate our right,
And like support and victory yield.
And never may our Country cese
Thy guardian kindness to secure;
But may prosperity and peace
Be now restored, and long endure!
O gracious God, before thy throne,
Thy suppliant people humbly bend,
For on thy sovereign power alone
Must all our nation's hopes depend.
With all the boasted pomp of war
In vain we dare the hostile field,
Unless the god of armies there
The cause shall own, the troops shall shield.
Let past experience of thy care
Support our trust, our hope invite;
And now attend our earnest prayer,
And in our Country's weal delight!
Our arms succeed, our councils guide;
Let thy right hand our cause maintain,
Till war's destructive rage subside,
And peace resume its gentle reign.
O when shall time the period bring
When raging War shall waste no more;
But peace shall stretch its sheltering wing
Round the wide earth from shore to shore!
When shall the Gospel's cheering ray,
Kind source of amity divine,
Spread o'er the world celestial day,
And all the nations, Lord, be thine!
When you forget our past, you repeat the errors! PTL!!!!
Well the Catholic Church sure got fooled then! Churches all over the US prayed for victory in Viet Nam. If Johnson was more powerful than millions of Christians then something is very wrong with the Church.
In fact 3 states approved gay marriage in the last election and the National Cathedral in Washington is now performing gay marriages. So something is wrong if people are praying correctly and this is what we get. Somebody needs to fix this.
2 Cor. 7:14 If my people, among whom my Name is called upon, do humble themselves, and pray and seek my presence, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear in heaven and be merciful to their sin, and will heal their land. 1599 Geneva Bible The bible the founding fathers used to established this contry by...
2Chronicles 7:14 has become my favorite scripture in this our country's greatest time of need.
Amen Janice, our country needs a revival in a very serious way. The only way we will come out of this mess is GOD, He is the ONLY way....
Our weapons of warfare are not carnal. It is written: " For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
Put on the whole Armor of God ( not man). Eph. 6:11
Angela... Bless you mightly, my sister in Christ Jesus. You are absolutely right. Thank you so much for the comfort of God's word.
It is written: "If we save our lives ( give in to evil) we lose it; if we lose it ( for righteousness sake) we save it." Jesus said, " If anyone is not FOR ME, he is AGAINST ME."
The line is drawn in the sand. I for one am standing on the same side as you, Angela. The banner over us is Love.
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
Thank you Janice. Your are right, the line in the sand is drawn. I am with God and he will prevail and the people who chose the other side will rot in hell with Satan and all his goons. And unlike some OTHERS that choose not to fight the good fight, well all I can say is they are cowards. Every American should fight like no tomorrow, and if they choose not to fight, they should just leave our great nation.
to what was written: I repeat what I’ve already said, “Whatever the consequences might be, and
whatever anyone else does or doesn’t do, I am prepared to become an outlaw
over this issue! I don’t know how to say it any plainer: I will not
register my firearms, and I will not surrender my firearms. Period. End of
story. It’s not just a saying with me: when my guns are outlawed, I will be
an outlaw: Here is my reply" let's roll!!!!!!!!!!
Your support keeps freedom alive!
