Tea Party Protest Against Mitt Romney - Concord, New Hampshire

Event Details

  • Sunday September 4, 2011
    5:30 pm – 6:00 pm EDT
  • After months of distancing himself from the tea party, suddenly Mitt Romney wants to be one of us.

That's right, the big-spending former governor who signed Massachusetts' very own version of ObamaCare is scheduled to take the stage this Sunday at a rally in Concord, NH to lecture real conservatives about limited government and fiscal responsibility.

FreedomWorks and tea party groups from around the region will be there. But not to hear more platitudes from an establishment hack posing as an outsider.

Mitt Romney is MUCH MUCH BETTER then the alternative. We need to stand behind him whether or not we agree with all that he stands for. it is our duty to make sure that he gets elected not to confuse people and drive them into the Obama camp.

Why is it that when you just look at the likes of a Romney, that you can just see the liberal suckwad personality actually radiating off of them? I mean, why is it not easy for everyone to see?

"Protest Against Mitt Romney -- Concord NH" ??? What is this all about? What exactly is it about Mitt Romney that you want to protest? Where are the principles that the Tea Party upholds that Romney has violated? Can someone please articulate this?

Most citizens, patriots included, are not wise as to the intention for the existence of the United States, and therefore are often troubled when expressing this truth.
Oftentimes, it doesn't fit an individual or group's agenda.

My problem with our presidential candidates, including Mitt, is the way they are controlled by a narrow-minded media, and they spend a majority of their time formulating their own, or their party's legislative agenda.
We should not be striving to elect our next "legislator-in-chief."

David Spielman (event organizer and imposter), what's up with organizing a bogus protest in New Hampshire, from your habitat in Washington, D.C.? If you want to pretend to be a Tea Partier, you'll have to do better than this. Start by reading the Constitution. We can sense imposters... :D

2 years 10 months ago

I'm thinkin' the only imposter is Mittens. Romney's a career pol who thinks the state can force it's citizens to buy insurance, and prevent it's citizens from exercising their constitutional rights i.e. the right to bare arms at the whim of the chief of police of their town.

P.S. The reason for Mittens being in Rollins Park in the first place is because the tea party express is coming to town. Same place, same time. Whether you're for Mitt or a real conservative, either way you should be at the park Sunday at 6.

I do stand corrected on this one. I contacted Freedomworks and David Spielman (event organizer) is on Freedomworks staff. The reply to my question said that this is a "legitimate event." To that I observe that there are only TWO people from New Hampshire who have RSVP'd to attend.

We are protesting Romney's bogus claim that he is a tea partier. People who support government-run health care, environmental regulation and TARP are certainly not advocates of limited government.

For many people they don't see much of a distinction between the GOP and the Tea Party, there in lies the problem. If the Tea Party, FreedomWorks or any other grassroots group becomes merely an extension of big government republicans than what is everyone fighting for?

It's nice to see people standing on principle. If the candidates and the two parties are virtually indistinguishable than what's the point? Keep up the great work David!

J Michael: This record makes Mitt a conservative? http://www.freedomworks.org/blog/thale/t...

David, I don't for a minute think that Mitt Romney (or Rick Perry for that matter) is a conservative. But a "protest" against someone who might very well end up running in the general election against Obama, really? Are you going to keep on protesting him all the way to election day?

Greetings to all. I did in fact attend this event, though I did so with a great deal of hesitation and skepticism. As I stated in an earlier post, prior to the event, I don't believe that "protesting" is generally a positive expenditure of time and energy.

Since it was not a choice to say NO i will not attend, I am saying right here that while Mitt Romney is not my choice I will not spread negative comments about any candidate that strives to give us the Hope and Change (Ride of Obama) that conservatives believe.

While so far, Mitt Romney is the candidate I most support, I appreciate the respect that Phil and others who don't support Romney show by not protesting him.

I'm coming to this gathering not to protest or support, but to see for myself what actions will be taken and what words will be spoken by all parties involved. I don't personally feel that a blatant "protest" is the wisest action for the Tea Party.
