Congress Should Permanently Waive the Ethanol Mandate

Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rejected a proposal from a number of governors and federal legislators to partially waive the Renewable Fuels Standard, which mandates the production of 36 billion gallons of ethanol by 2022. This year, the Energy Policy Act of 2005 requires refiners to blend nearly 13 billion gallons of corn-based ethanol into gasoline.

I talked to a Chemical Engineer about ethanol and he said it still costs us 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of gasoline to produce ethanol. Wow!

GAO Report: $400 Billion Wasted Annually On 1,500 Duplicative, Fragmented, Inefficient Government Programs. This also does not include all of the bureaucrats golden parachute benefits either!

The ethanol program is considerably responsible for the price of corn going crazy. 30% or more of all corn crops go into this black hole. Corn products are in hundreds of food items and other products where the prices are being driven up.

Thank you very much for your kind response, It is appreciated! I only pray that Washington will ,at least, give some consideration to Our request! Anymore it seems useless to ask the Administration for ANYTHING!!! And Our Representatives are even more distant than The President!!!
