Republicans should stand and fightPending Approval

Like Puller's Marines, the GOP is surrounded. That means Republican leaders have only two options: 1) Surrender. 2) Stand and fight. Right now, it seems as if they are seeking the least painful way to surrender. It's time to stand and fight instead. Republicans can still shoot their way out of their current predicament.

It won’t be pretty and they will have to fight ugly — but they can still win. Here is a three-step battle plan for doing so:

Ahh, yes, a negotiated surrender. That always ends well....right?

The Republicans need to feel the support of Conservative grassroots so that they can stand their ground (and not surrender).
Likewise, the Democrats need to feel the heat so that they cannot force their agenda without consequence.

Norman it seems Boehner could care less about Conservatives. He needs to go. But who would the best replacement be? Any ideas?

Tim Price from GA is a Conservative whose name has been floated, but he has denied any intention to challenge Boehner for the Speaker position.

Sorry, That's Tom Price. See: http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/3...

Why do the Republicans have to surrender. It has always been the President that was in power that took the hit! If we go off the cliff then it will be Obama's because he's still campaigning. He's too stupid to know that he won.

When one is surrounded there are abundant targets. Unfortunately the dead elephant party ran out of ammo, strategy and tactics before coming to this fight.

I do not see any way out of this right now. Both parties are to blame for this mess we are in but it is mostly the Dems who like to tax and spend out money. We need to just bit the bullet and let this mess fall where it may. Maybe something can be salvaged out of what is left.

As I see it, nothing happens if the House doesn't vote on a bill. Boehner should pass a bill making the Bush Era Tax Cuts permanent and go home.

He cannot without the Senate voting on it! The Senate is the road block, and not the House.

They will choose to ignore the passed bill like all the other bills that have been sent. He should do it and send all the representatives home to tell their constitutes whose really stopping the vote. Town Hall meetings are powerful and give us a voice.

Since the media is run by the democrat machine we are at a disadvantage. Except through the grassroots movement. We are still altering the landscape. At least where I am!

We need to make the press follow us. Our representatives need to be brought home regularly for some butt whuppin. It's the only way. Regular Town Hall meetings should be manditory.

I cannot disagree with anything you said!

In my HR district we booted the old Rep and replaced her with a new guy, our guy. Dr. Brad Winstrup. Rep. Mean Jean Schmidt never had any Town Hall meetings. So we booted her.

Speaker Boehner can be booted as well, his district is just north of mine. The CincinnatiTP is strong and well organized. He better watch out.

@Michel - yes, please please! There has got to be a better Republican than Boehner to represent his district....

ain't that the truth

This is the best idea I have heard from the Republican side yet. Sometimes the best defense is a good offense!
