I contend that those American people who believe in the value of small government and limited regulation have been forced, by Progressives, to "kick this issue down the road" for far too long. A line in the sand needs to be drawn past which we must not venture. Progressives do not believe in limited government nor do they think that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are applicable in our current society. Progressives will not stop their attempts to re-write our founding documents in a manner that will further minimize our natural rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Those who believe in the concepts of limited government must continue to resist progressives' and deny them the funding they feel they need to attain their goals. I constantly urge my representatives, as well as the President, to resist revenue increases and focus on controlling spending.

Typical Progressive (Statist) dogma. Raise taxes on the rich, to satisfy the masses. What goes unsaid is, because of the loopholes in the tax code the wealthy will continue to avoid any increased tax rates. (GE paid "zero" taxes last year.)
The progressives are avoiding the spending issue because the cuts needed would cause the welfare state to rise up and bite the hands that have been feeding it for these many years.
If I were Congressman Huelskamp I would allow the whole thing to go over the cliff with one twist: Any difference of revenue gained from the "Clinton Era" Tax rates would go directly toward paying off the debt. The money goes straight from the Treasury to the creditors without being funneled away into the black hole of Federal Spending.
As for gun control: Gun control starts at home. As far as I'm concerned the mother of that sick individual is culpable in the horrendous crime because she did not secure her weapons. Conseratives need to really examine all of these issues and have a prepared, definitive, realistic response to the questions that they must know are coming down range at them from these Central Committee cronies.
