 Let's see, compact fluorescent lamps are feared as a fire hazard that could burn down your home, may damage skin, contain mercury so that if one is broken, a hazmat team is recommended to do cleanup, and cost much more than incandescents.

I'm not too concerned about a broken light and I will take steps to protect myself. However, all the broken bulbs will be discarded into landfills across the nation and contaminating our drinking water. We will be creating more superfund landfills sites.

i've been storing extra bulbs for years, i saw it coming a long time ago.

I switched to LEDs last year. They cost more but last about 20 years and reduce electrical usage by 90%.....wonderful what modern science can do!!! The old fashioned light bults were inventeed 140 years ago.
