My heartfelt condolences go out to every family that has lost loved ones by the hands of deranged individuals. The problem of this Gun Control Ban, is that even if it goes into law, IT WILL NOT STOP ACTS OF VIOLENCE. It will only cause criminals to find other means to carry out their violent acts.

Yes, it is a tragedy what happen in Connecticut and Colorado. Innocent lives were taken needlessly by the hands of individuals suffering from mental disorders, but, we must not forget other tragedies that have been committed upon innocent Americans due to mental disorders...

Oklahoma April 19, 1995.
Timothy McVeigh, who served his country in the Gulf War, and no matter what was reported by the media, and not to make excuses for McVeigh, suffered from PTSD. Tim suffered from this devastating illness after returning from the Gulf war and tried desperately to fit into his former life and pick up the fragmented pieces of his drive, ambition and peace of mind. None of these factors would be forthcoming for McVeigh: Rather, he wandered aimlessly from one dead-end job to another, had great difficulty developing satisfying interpersonal relationships and was plagued with severe episodes of depression and anxiety. He kept everything buried deep inside. Then there were those years on the gun curcuit, wandering all over the county in his old car and making superficial friends at the many gun shows he frequented. Most schizophrenics become fixated on something; with Tim it was possessing and hanging onto an arsenal of weapons. He suffered paranoid delusions that the government was trying to take his guns and his freedom away and then, with the tragic events at Waco in April of 1993, the disturbed young man was pushed right over the edge. On April 19, 1995, at 9:02 a.m., an explosion ripped through the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Okla. The blast killed 168 people - 19 of them children - and injured hundreds.

Then, there's Waco... While millions of horrified viewers watched on national television, as many as 86 people—nearly a third of them children—died in a fast-moving fire that burned Koresh's compound to the ground. Within a few hours all that remained, aside from smoldering ashes, were questions: Was the blaze set on the orders of Koresh, 33, who had once claimed to be Jesus reincarnate? Or was it started when tanks on loan to the FBI ripped holes in compound buildings and pumped in tear gas. hoping to force cult members to give up after a 51-day siege? Was it a mass suicide that only nine Branch Davidians escaped? Or a tragic accident? David Koresh was a man many mental health experts were inclined to describe as a likely "psychopath."

Then, there's the Jonestown Massacre, which had a death toll of 918 people and was the most deadly single non-natural disaster in U.S. history until September 11, 2001. The Jonestown Massacre also remains the only time in history in which a U.S. Congressman, U.S. Representative Leo Ryan from San Mateo, California, was killed in the line of duty.

Because of Jones's paranoia that the Gov. would retaliate for the death of Ryan, he had large kettles filled with grape flavored Flavor-Aid (not Kool-Aid), cyanide, and Valium that were placed in the open-sided pavilion.

Babies and children were brought up first. Syringes were used to pour the poisoned juice into their mouths. Mothers then drank some of the poisoned punch. Next went other members. Some members were already dead before others got their drinks. If anyone wasn't cooperative, there were guards with guns and crossbows to encourage them. It took approximately five minutes for each person to die.

On that day, November 18, 1978, 912 people died from drinking the poison, 276 of whom were children. Jones died from a single gunshot wound to the head, but it is unclear whether or not he did this himself. It has been reported that Jim Jones suffered from NPD-Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Definition: Bold, talented and self-promoting, too much self-love and self-aggrandizement, seen as a negative personal trait and carries with it severe social sanctions for those who engage in this type of behavior. If left unchecked, Narcissistic Personality Disorder can pose a serious and direct threat to all those around the narcissistic person.

Bottom line, Government CAN NOT STOP deranged individuals suffering from some sort of mental disorder, who are intent on committing their acts of violence, with ANY Law, ANY Ban or ANY Restrictions.........

Choose Your Own Crime Stats

An interesting look at Crime Stats in the United States using data from the FBI that doesn’t seem to be getting much discussion from either the press or politicians. There has been a 50% reduction in the violent crime rate in the last twenty years and neither political party is taking credit for this? I thought politicians always wanted to take credit for good things? Perhaps they don’t want to draw attention to the fact that higher crime rates seem to correspond with inner cities? The great thing about living in the United States is you’re Free To Choose, at least for now, so feel free to Choose Your Own Crime Stats if you don’t like these.

Fun Fact of The Day: There Were More Murders In Gun-Outlawed Chicago Than Coalition Deaths In Afghanistan During 2012… There were 405 Coalition deaths in Afghanistan in 2012. 310 of the 405 deaths were Americans. Meanwhile in Chicago there were 532 homicides in 2012.
