Ok. What you said makes no sense. How it affects the poor is simple, prices of goods rises and the poor can't afford it cause it cost so damn high. Standard of living increases and if the poor is already poor, how the hell would they be able to buy anything. They will live on welfare for the rest of their lives. Middle class isn't the problem, its the policy itself thats the problem. Government policy for minimum wage is restricting small business to have a fair competition. It weeds out many competition so that the rich could be richer and the poor will be poorer. It cost money to hire people and cost more money to maintain them. If you increase what you have to pay, there wouldn't be as much people working full time. There is no steady compensation. There is no security coming from this. Also, there will be less quality of work. The poor will get poorer due to lack of education, training, skills, experience, and etc. The poor never benefits with this and it never will with higher minimum wage. Also, quality of work will decrease because of this and it inflates the economy.

One of the biggest problems with leftist ideology is that they view the world as fixed and static. Case in point is their belief in the income gap myth. They believe that it is patently unfair for the rich to get richer, leaving the poor behind. They fail to take into account that incomes are dynamic over time and are very volatile, based on the innate human desire to improve and achieve. Studies have shown that upwards of 80% of those who are under the federal poverty line are no longer living in poverty within 5 years.

Regarding what Doctor Know said, he's right to say that it affects the poor and middle class. But it affects the poor more than the middle class in that the rise in prices consumes more of a percentage of the income of the poor than those in the middle class. So he's correct in stating that it screws the middle class. But it screws the poor more.

In regards to the Middle Class, there is too many assumptions that the middle class is used and frankly, its been misused most of the time when discussing what fits within the middle class in America. Each country, each state, each county, city, etc. has their own description of the middle class and to say that the middle is getting screwed for is too hard to define compare to the poor. The poor is identified as people who don't make the a standard minimum wages in their communities. That is considered to be the poor or the lower class which ultimately defines them. Its true that this definition isn't the best but it is better put than the middle class notion that is almost impossible to define at all. Middle class in gerenal wont be badly affected compared to the lower class. In seattle, the minimum wage for standard living in seattle in 2008 was 21,000.00 a year per person. That is gross amount which in other towns and even seattle, its sustainable to live. People under that was considered lower class. It will affect those people who are making lower than that wage significantly more that ever will to the lower class. Same thing with other cities. The lower class will be affected the most in overall. The Lower middle class might be affected but the middle to upper middle class wont be much since there aren't that many people doing those jobs compared to the lower class who does significantly more so. There are more retail stores, restaurant workers, etc. that has significantly more people that a law firm, manufacturers, Technicians etc. Eventually, government workers will decrease due to capacity and money issues that could cause more unemployment but as for the society, the unemployment of retailers, waiters/waitress, etc. the actually lower class will be the most affect overall. I don't even count the middle class cause anything over the poverty line could either be lower middle class or middle class or higher class etc. Those people are the ones you really don't need to worry as much as to the lower class which is the poor.

I have already. I don't understand your comment here. As a person who studied economic sociology and economic policies, you simply can't keep low prices while having a high minimum wage. Makes no sense. Imagine if you have to own a business and that because of minimum wage is too high, you have to fire so many workers in order to keep your business afloat. The ones who are less qualified are fired or laid off while the people who qualify will stay. Either that or inflation happens in which people hate to buy something more expensive for something that does the same thing as cheap things. Inflation is never good and it ruins the value of currency. Purchasing power if decreased and that is never good. To lower minimum wage or not even having one would make prices in the market more affordable to most instead of the many or the few. I don't understand how you think this is any good but if prices want to stay low, they have to realize that raising the minimum wage is certainly not a good opportunity.

I already told you before that the middle class is not just classified as that. The middle class argument is something more complex than that. I already told you that if affect the poor more than the middle class. And I don't care whether you have a degree or not, you simply don't know why these social problems become a problem and why this debate is so much more complex than it already is. Usually, when they state middle class, they are talking about the citizens making from the lower income of 21000 to roughly about 100,000 a year. That is the middle class. And of course it varies because I already told you that it did in my previous arguments. I argued that it affects the lower class more than the middle. What you stated is that it affects people of the middle class more than the poor. The business example is how the poor gets screwed over instead of the middle. The rest of my argument is because I figured you don't know anything about economics and how it worked.
