In Closed-Door Meeting, Cantor Warned of 'Civil War'

Katrina Trinko writes on NRO: House majority leader Eric Cantor is increasingly frustrated with a group of House Republicans who are working against the leadership, and he's not afraid of voicing his dismay.

In a closed-door conference meeting on Wednesday, Cantor told one GOP member that if they blocked the Senate-passed Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) from coming to the floor, they’d cause “civil war” in the ranks.

Tensions between backbenchers and leadership, however, are evident, and the whip on the rule took over an hour.

"Warned of"? The civil war started the day after the election. Its the Rove wing of the party versus the conservative/tea party wing of the party. It will be a long while before we are back in charge of anything. A party divided cannot stand, right?? Well see.

Why worry about the "Republican" party? They need to worry about the United States!! Who cares about the parties - they both have a bunch of liars and greedy people out for themselves. They have shown that they don't care about "We the People" time and time again.

the ONLY reason to worry about the Republican Party is that it is (or should be) a vehicle for promoting Conservative ideals and Conservative candidates to enact them.

Perhaps Cantor should realize that squashing Conservatives for the purpose of passing RINO legislation is the surest way possible to provoke civil war.....
