DO YOU HAVE A GUN IN THE HOUSE?

November 28, 2012

I recieved this from a friend of mine today ... it is true!
Marilyn J.

When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital for what should have been an overnight stay the insurance company kicked me out. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit.

FYI, I am passing this along... There are comments from two other people I have also been asked if we keep guns in the house. The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask.

Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack.

The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else.

Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?? My answer was None of your damn business!!

So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!!

Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners... Thanks, from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctor's appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: 1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?

The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.

Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED !

If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.

They are coming for us, so unless you're an ostrich, do not stick your head in the sand.........

Welcome to the police state. Now I know how it feels to in 1930s Germany.

1 year 10 months ago

I heard the police came to a man's house on a call unrelated to his guns, and when he asked if there were firearms in the house, the man said yes, the cops took them. When he went to court to get them back with his receipts, the judge told him they had been destroyed... Just sayin...

I guess The Branch Dividians knew what to do when the Feds came knocking. The USA is in one hell of a mess!

1 year 10 months ago

If you keep saying it, does it make it so? I don't really see the problem here, as I have not been asked and it seems like this "true story" is a lot of training you do not need. Folks, there is no crisis, and even if there were, you can handle it without a lot of hand wringing. It is a simple squeeze of the trigger, not a wringing of hands.

Just make sure you shoot them in the front, not the back!!

Could you imagine Daniel Boone or Davy Crockett being asked if he had a gun?

Can they not see we too are of that cloth?

1 year 10 months ago

Nope, they think we are all appeasers like the cowards in DC! They are counting on us slinking away as they fundamentally transform OUR home! Obama didnt grow up here on John Wayne and Davy Crockett and Remember the Alamo and the Lone Ranger and Audie Murphy and LEAVE NO MAN BEHIND!!

He is going after the guns period--when guns are outlawed only the outlaws will have guns- and in this case it is going to be our government. Bama is not an American--he does not believe in the American way or dream and somehow he has MSM under his thumb. Watch out for Obamacare also--microchips for newborns and all beyond

1 year 10 months ago

Nope! I won't even microchip my dog! And I freaking LOVE my dog!

I never keep a gun in my house.
I keep a gun in a holster
I keep a gun in a drawer.
I keep a gun in a safe
I keep a gun in the couch.
And if asked if I have a gun?
What gun? Is my reply. If they ask any gun? My reply is nope. I have a Glock, Smith and Wesson, Colt, and. . . .
They must ask specific questions, you do not half to answer their general questions with specific answers.
Bottom line:

I leave you with these thoughts of the enemy within:

Sun Tzu

THE good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy. To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.

Apparently this is a fake. According to a post by -

Sean Walton
It's a fraud according to snopes.com:

Kevin, snopes is actually owned and run by 2 very liberal individuals. A man and wife team in California. When I was told this, (I am always skeptical) I contacted snopes.com owners and knowing they probably wouldn't answer any questions IF this was true, I took another approach. I wrote to them praising all of the work they did and inquired as to what size of group they had to uncover all of the facts. I commented on how many man hours this must take.

Thanks Kevin. while the link doesn't work, it seems pretty logical that the story was bogus. Love the internet.

1 year 10 months ago

Lavonna, I love it! Way to go to the heart of the matter! I applaud curiosity and critical thinking! You were brilliant!

1 year 10 months ago

So Annette, did you find a working link, or are you one hand clapping? Just wondering, as I have seen a lot of criticism of snopes with no rational basis.

1 year 10 months ago

Who keeps gun. I would rether have a gun. Knowone has asked me if I know how to use one. Or if I shoot can I hit the target. You do need ammo? Hell I forgot what was the question?

1 year 10 months ago

I have no clue if the story told is a "snope". I know for a fact the one I told was true, I just applaud anyone who does research for themselves, because of the intellectually lazy people who just re elected an urban legend who is a sham!

1 year 10 months ago

I would also caution anyone that there is an element of truth to ANYTHING you read and ANYTHING you hear, and only if you consider that ANYTHING is possible can you be intellectually prepared for what is coming out of DC ( like 1984)

1 year 10 months ago

The VA part is true. I know the VA ask me.

Thanks again Kevin.

Richard, I am waiting for the New Year. I here 2013 could be a Hell of a year.

To all here who are even the least bit curious about snopes.com, there is a "contact us" tab at the top of every page. Anyone can contact them and inquire about their methods. But how one goes about asking will make all of the difference.

I am not saying that they are not truthful about everything. Quite the contrary, there is lots of truth mixed in. I think we just have to be able and willing to do the diligent work to sort out fact from fiction.

Hence the saying... "Life imitates art?"

1 year 10 months ago

hmmm, yes I would say so. Seems to be happening more and more lately.

1 year 10 months ago

Right? And with some of the crap coming out in the theatres I DREAD what's coming up! i think the Twilight series is actually a metaphor for the Democratic party! well, they are the vampires anyway! that makes the republicans the werewolves! Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

Don't know how this is a Snopes issue ... It was a true story e-mailed to me by a friend! Earlier this week I had to go in for an imaging MRI ... Of the paperwork I had to fill out, there was one from the Federal Government asking me a lot of personal things ... PLUS if I owned a gun. I declined to answer the questions. Don't tell me that this is bogus, as it happened to me!

1 year 10 months ago

Marilyn, I am only saying to people who think that snopes.com is to be trusted to put out facts on all things they report, it is not a good idea. After all, snopes did report this as bogus. And this story has been around for a little while, it is posted to their site.

I'm just paranoid! Everybody wants my guns! (And my Texas sheet cake recipe!)... I'm gonna need a better hiding place!

1 year 10 months ago

1 year 10 months ago
