Why are you here on FC if you do not really support smaller and/or limited government?

January 29, 2013

I sometimes wonder who here really supports the principals of limited government and less of a government. It seems there are more people wanting more government, not less, they just want different "more government" than those they call the left. I go home many days wondering what has been accomplished here, all to often it seems like it's just got worse.

Why are you here on FC if you do not really support smaller or limited government?

Where can we agree government needs to cut spending and it's size? Education, Military, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid,

Daniel, you have just stated one case for entitlement slashing. As long as our government sees fit to take from one to give to another, we have a problem.
While cutting benefits out, it won't change the fact that many already have more than they can handle, but it would certainly give pause to future "dependents" to possibly think things through before having more children than they can raise.

Also, being a baby mill was giving her approximately $90600 per annum of our tax money free of taxes on her part, which if she were a taxpayer would be an annual income of $116153. We can thank good old Lyndon Johnson for his war on poverty.

(George Washington, In his Farewell Address to the United States in 1796.)

[T]he [federal] government . . . can never be in danger of degenerating into a monarchy, and oligarchy, an aristocracy, or any other despotic or oppressive form so long as there shall remain any virtue in the body of the people.

Noah Webster, Founding Educator

. All the evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible. . . . For instruction then in social, religious and civil duties resort to the scriptures for the best precepts.

Too bad man has not yet realized that God's Plan needs no improvement. It is perfect in it's self.

What has become of Charity? In the 60's charity was a tool used to help people through hard times, it was not a way of life. Soon charity became a word to be ashamed of. No one wanted to be associated with being a recipient.
Government stepped in and created entitlements in order to do away with charity. Charity is a word that is used in the bible and states that we should be charitable. Government uses the word entitlement and demands that we support it.
Which do you support?

Allow me to cite yet another example of how our system is failing. My adult daughter is the spitting image of her Sicilian grandmother dark skinned, brown eyed and long black hair.
She married a guy I did not like and told her so, when dad was proven to be right she refused to ask me for help and went to the welfare office, after filling out the forms a worker looked at her and asked if she was hispanic when she said no she was told to bad you could have gotten more!

God has created all men equal. This simply means (in my opinion) that we are all born in sin. It is then up to us to find and then either accept or reject the teachings of the bible. Parents are to be responsible for the children's education in this area. The bible specifically states "Mothers". God's Word does not teach us to depend on government for anything

A slippery slope. Hard to climb back up when they make it profitable to remain in the basement.

Have seen signs now however, these people who have been nudged into dependence are having the rug pulled out from under them. many will say good it's about time. But is it? Hard times for "many" including the charitable.
Timing is everything.
